Infiniti G37 vs Cadillac CTS

The last time the Infiniti G37 Coupe went head-to-head against a competitor in an MT test, it scored an upset victory against the longtime luxury sport coupe champ, the BMW 3 Series. That was approximately three years ago. Since then, the G has received several incremental improvements. So when we found both a 2010 G37 two-door and Cadillac's new 2011 CTS Coupe in our garage at the same time -- similarly equipped, at that -- we decided to pit the two against each other in a good-old-fashioned vehicular duel. Living in Texas, we may not have a high need for an all-wheel drive vehicle but we do get some bad weather every now and then and having a vehicle that has all wheel drive makes driving a lot easier. InsideLine Video produced a nice piece about the 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible that we wanted to share. Here is a link to the video. Drop the Top And the top is the story of this car. Less than 30 seconds is all it takes to transform what is basically a G37 hardtop (no B-pillar or fixed side glass) into a wide-mouth convertible. Just push the button on the center console and hold. 2010 Infiniti G37 Convertible Earns Top Ranking

Consumer Reports gave the Infiniti G37 Convertible, Lexus IS 250C and the Audi A5 Cabriolet convertibles an overall score of “Very Good,” topping Consumer Reports tests’ of three four-seat convertibles for the May 2010 issue. The publication also tested two less expensive convertibles including the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Mini Cooper S Convertible. The Infiniti G37 Convertible and IS 250C earned “Very Good” overall road-test scores of 77, slightly beating the Audi A5 convertible, which earned a test score of 74. Infiniti G37 Vehicle Highlights The 2010 Infiniti G37 gets slightly freshened exterior and interior styling. This premium midsize car comes in 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan versions along with a 2-door convertible with a power-retractable hardtop (see separate report). Trim levels include the rear-wheel-drive G37 Base, G37 Journey, G37S Sport 6MT, and all-wheel-drive G37x.
