The last time the Infiniti G37 Coupe went head-to-head against a competitor in an MT test, it scored an upset victory against the longtime luxury sport coupe champ, the BMW 3 Series. That was approximately three years ago. Since then, the G has received several incremental improvements. So when we found both a 2010 G37 two-door and Cadillac’s new 2011 CTS Coupe in our garage at the same time — similarly equipped, at that — we decided to pit the two against each other in a good-old-fashioned vehicular duel.

Assuming you consider either of the German makes the gold standard in this segment, you might want to give some thought to saving a satchel of cash to get nearly the same level of performance in this Infiniti.
Bottom line: The 2010 Infiniti G37x sedan is one of the best entry-level luxury sedans –aesthetically appealing inside and out, excellent road manners, reasonably practical, excellent overall crash safety, reasonably affordable price, somewhat decent mileage.

The 2010 Infiniti G37 gets slightly freshened exterior and interior styling. This premium midsize car comes in 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan versions along with a 2-door convertible with a power-retractable hardtop (see separate report).
The G is available in three body styles, and each will appeal to a different sort of buyer. The G37 sedan is easy to live with as a family car, or for those who carpool. It offers rear quarters nearly as comfortable as those found in the Lexus ES, and an extraordinary optional stereo.
A new limited edition anniversary version of the Infiniti G series is being offered by the car maker for the US market. Christened the 2010 Infiniti G37 Anniversary Edition, the car will hit the US dealerships by the middle of April. The variants on offer will either be in the shape of convertibles, coupes or sedans.
Infiniti is celebrating 20 years in 2010 and to celebrate Infiniti is releasing special anniversary models of four G models (sedan, AWD sedan, coupe, and convertible). All Anniversary Editions will include both the Premium and Navigation packages and the limited-edition G comes painted in new-for-2010 Graphite Shadow Metallic.
For 2009, the basics of the G37 coupe stay the same with two major upgrades coming down the pipe.
